On 21 Sep PW, who was a plt ldr carrying a leaflet led his men to the Americans and voluntarily surrendered his plt. Cooperative, but info was limited only to his Company. He received his commission because he was a middle school graduate.
T/O & E AND STRENGTH OF: 105th Tank Div, 849th AT Regt, AT Bn, 3rd AT Co, 1st Plt.849th Regt composed of AT Bn and a complex Bn (Engr Co, HMG Co, AT Rifle Co). One (1) Bn composed of three (3) companies.
Each Co composed of two (2) platoons.
Each Plt composed of two (2) sqds.
Remark: 3rd Co, AT Bn, 849th AT Regt, 105th Tank Div has been completely eliminated as of 21 Sep 50.

On 25 Aug 50, PW saw the 105th Tank Div Hq located 8 km SE of KUMCHON.
PW saw Arty and troops near YANGMOK area retreating to KUMCHON on 20 Sep 50.
Intention of the 849th Regt was to attack the American forces coming from WAEGWAN.
PERSONAL & UNIT HISTORY:Inducted 14 Jul 50 at PYONGYANG.
Received 20 days of AT basic training.
PW because an officer after he finished his basic, because he graduated from Middle School.
Departed PYONGYANG on 9 Aug 50 and travelled by train and truck reaching YANGMOK on 20 Sep 50.

ARMOR & ARTILLERY:
Between KUMCHON & YANGMOK o/a 20 Sep 50, PW saw approx ten (10) T-34/85 tanks scattered in villages or along roadsides.
MORALE:
PW stated that the spirit in the 849th AT Regt was low, because they were forced into the Army. He was an anti-communist.
US PW’s:
He saw an unknown number of American PW’s AT THE #5 PYONGYANG Girls School (PW Camp) at PYONGYANG o/a 25 Jul 50.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
PW stated that the PYONGYANG - SEOUL - WONJU - YONGJU RR line was passable.
