2. ASSESSMENT:
PW talked freely and his information seemed fairly reliable. Information was very limited due to his short period of military service.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Chronology:
26 Jul 50 - PW was inducted at P'YONGYANG. PW was attached to the 2nd Sqd, 1st Plt, 1st Co, Engr Bn, Independent Unit. Fired 3 rounds with Japanese Carbino for rifle marksmanship.
O/a 15 Aug 50 - The Independent Unit was composed of two (2) 57-mm AT Gun Bns and one (1) Engr Bn.
The 1st Bn (57-mm AT Gun Bn) and the 3rd Bn (Engr Bn) departed P'YONGYANG by train.
O/a 25 Aug 50 - Arrived YONGJU (榮州) via SEOUL and WONJU (原州). From WONJU, they marched south.
O/a 17 Sep 50 - Arrived KUSAN-DONG and engaged ROK troops for three days.
20 Sep 50 - PW was captured by the ROK troops after the 3rd Bn was annihilated.

Last Known Composition of Unit:
The troops of the 3rd Bn (Engr Bn) fought as riflemen when they reached KUSAN-DONG, 17 Sep 50.
PW said that there were approximately 300 men in the 3rd Bn when the 3rd Bn was first organized at P'YONGYANG. PW estimated that there were only about 20 men left in the 3rd Bn when he was captured 20 Sep 50.

Intentions:
The 3rd Bn was to defend YONGCH'ON (永川). Since YONGCH'ON had already been retaken by ROK troops, the 3rd Bn fought at KUSAN-DONG.

Morale and Propaganda:
Morale of the troops was very low because the troops had very little training. Most of the troops wanted to surrender but they could not because the officers and NCO's were behind them with pistols and carbines.

4. GENERAL:
One (1) N. Korean WON was worth eight (8) S. Korean WON.
The Red Cross Insignia was used on hospital vehicles.

For the Commanding Officer:
