3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:a. Chronology: POW was drafted into the above unit on 3 Aug 50 at SHINKISHU, HELAN HOKUDO and received about 3 weeks basic training near the Shinkishu Airfield. Upon completion of his basic training he was promoted to Superior Pvt. and was appointed as the squad leader of the 2nd Squad. The 70th Inf Regt was dispatched to Inchon Area. His unit Arrived in INCHON on or about 13 Sep 50. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd Co of this unit were used in defense of the hills about 12 km south of INCHON and the 1st Platoon of the 2nd Co was employed in defending the road which leads from INCHON. His platoon which was used in defense of the hill was bombarded but was not hit. The whole regiment without orders took to ANIYAN (16 km southeast of this POW Stockade) in disorder. He and 6 out of his squad of 8 men who had talked about deserting the unit, accepted this opportunity and hid their arms (1 ppsh SMG plus 40 rounds of ammunition and 6 rifles and 500 rounds of ammunition) in the bushes near a village about 4 km southeast of Stockade.
All 7 were captured by US Forces.

Original strength of the 70th Regt was 2,000 (Bn - 600; Co -150; Pltn - 40)
c. Equipment:
Each platoon was equipped with 1 hv MG, 1 light MG and each squad leader with 1 ppsh SMG and EMs with Rifles.
One 72mm mortar is possessed by each Co besides above. No additional weapons are known to be authorized.
