Information unreliable. PW seems to be concealing information.

Military History:
Volunteered 10 Jan 46 at SINBIN MYON. Served in the 8th Route (Chinese) Army until Jul 49, when informant was released to join the 6th NK Division at SINUIJU. Aug 49, informant was transferred to the 15th Regt at SARIWON. Between Aug 49 to Jun 50 trained. 25 Jun 50, the informant’s regt moved into KAESONG. From KAESONG the regt marched by night through YONGDUNGP’O, KWANGJU, SUNCH’ON, HADONG, KOSONG and arrived at CHIN DONG-NI o/a 20 Aug 50.

T/O and E of PW' s Unit:
Sqd -7 or 8 Med, 1 x PPsh 1941 tommy guns, 1-70 round magazine, 4 or 5 x M1891/30 rifles, 100 rounds per rifle. 2 x Jap 99 rifles, 20 rounds per rifle, 1 x DP LMG, 200 rounds of ammo, 12 hand grenades per sqd.

Food and Ammo Supplies:
Troops lived off the land. Ammo supply route or dump unknown. The unit hand sufficient ammunition. Ammo was hand carried to the Bn and companies from the rear.

Capabilities of Unit:
Morale: Morale of the troops rises during an advance and falls during a retreat. The morale as a whole was very low because of fatigue, air attacks and lack of food. The troops are able to fight because of iron discipline.
Replacements: Replacements were conscripted enroute to the front. Each company of the 2nd Bn received 7 replacements 20 Jul 50. Replacements were untrained and issued weapons at the front. Severely wounded troops were evacuated to the rear. Most of the severely wounded troops died due to lack of medical attention. Lightly wounded troops were given first aid and ordered back to the line. When separated from parent organization the troops were told to join the nearest unit until such a time that he could join his unit.

South Korean Sentiment:
The people of the newly occupied areas support the NKPA.

Enemy Intentions:
The troops were ordered to fight to the last man. The company commander of the informant’s unit told the troops about twice a week that the Chinese Communists and the Russians will aid them.
