Capability of Unit:
The 73rd Independent Artillery Regiment was capable of launching a full scale battle based on man-power and equipment. However, all personnel of the unit were a new recruits except the officers. PW felt that if his regiment were to engage the UN regiments, it would surely be defeated. Very few had more than 5 to 10 days of training.

Supplies:
The supplies the unit carried with them were as follows: Rice, bread, dried fish, shoyu, salt, Korean pickle (Kimchi). When every thing was exhausted no further supplies were received.
Clothing was not re-issued and, in place of wore socks, rags were issued.
Ammunition supply was only that which they had brought with them. The supplies were all brought from SHINGI SHU by train.

Mission:
The Regimental and Battalion mission was TAEGU. After the fall of TAEGU, their next objective was PUSAN.
