Evaluation:
PW cooperative, information limited but reliable.

Personal and Unit History:
PW was conscripted into present unit on 29 Jul 50, at SEOUL. The 350th Unit left SEOUL, 1 Aug 50, and marched to YONGDUNGP’O arriving the same day. The Unit then boarded a train and rode south, detraining at OSAN (烏山) 2 Aug 50. The unit then marched via following cities south:
CHONAN 3 Aug 50
POUN 6 Aug 50
OKCH’ON 7 Aug 50
KUMSAN 8 Aug 50
CHINAN 9 Aug 50
Unit rode on trucks from CHINAN to HYOPCH’ON, arriving 11 1500K Aug 50. Unit then marched thru CHOCYE to present location arriving 20 0700 Aug 50. Subject deserted unit 23 2040 Aug 50 and was picked up by US Forces 24 Aug 50.

Note: Military rank was not used in the unit. Man were referred to by their position; that is, Unit Cmdr, Bn Cmdr, Co Cmdr, Plt Ldr.

T/O & E of PW's Unit:
The 350th Unit was composed of 4 infantry battalions. Each Bn was composed of three companies. Each Co was composed of 3 platoons. Approx strength 350th Unit - 600 men; Bn - 150 men; Co - 50 men; Plt - 16 men. Note: There was no T0/3 for this unit as far ns PW knew. The above were the strength figures for the unit as of 23 Aug 50.

4th Bn - NAMDONG (남동) Approx 1380.8-1130.5
3rd Bn - 1 Km N of 4th Bn
Unit Hqs and other Bns - unknown.

Artillery:
Observed 4 x 45-mm AT Guns located in a heavily wooded area about 600 meters W of NAMDONG on 23 Aug 50.

Morale:
Morale of unit was very low.

Captured Equipment:
One or 2 US carbines or M-1 rifles were to be found in each platoon.

S Korean Sentiment:
The S Korean civilians do not think much of the NKPA. It appeared to Subject that the reason for this was that NKPA soldiers had stolen cows and food from the civilians in their push to the south.
