Military History:Inducted 17 Jun 50 - NANAM (羅南).
Joined the North Korean Democratic Youth Organization in the latter part of Apr 50 at PUKCHANG. (2,100 men were training. Basic training until 17 Jun 50 at which time the unit was transferred to NANAM and made part of into the NKPA). PW and approximately 50 men trained for 10 days learning the nomenclature of signal equipment. Departed NANAM 27 Jun 50 (original 2,000 men) arrived SEOUL 1 Jul 50 where the 2,000 men were assigned to various units in the 13th Div. Remained in SEOUL about a week, observed approx 20,000 NKPA Troops sightseeing in and around SEOUL. Entire 13th Div departed SEOUL, 8 Jul 50 - marched - arrived INCH'ON, date unknown Jul 50. Departed INCH’ON (利川) date unknown Jul 50 - marched - arrlved CH’UNGJU (忠州) ? Jul 50.
Departed CH'UNGJU - date unknown - marched - arrived MUNG’YQNG (聞慶) date unknown.
Departed MUNG’YQNG - date unknown - marched - arrived YECH'ON (禮泉) date unknown.
Departed YECH'ON - date unknown - marched - arrived KUMCH'ON (金泉) date unknown.
Departed KUMCH'ON - date unknown - marched - arrived YUHAK-SAH (Mt) (遊鶴山) 19 Aug 50. Entire 13th Div arrived in YUHAK-SAN (Mt) in the vicinity of KASAN-Myon (加山面). 1st, 2nd and 3rd Regts were assigned to various locations of YUHAK-SAN (mt 899 ft). The 13th Div Hqs was located in a school building in the vicinity of the YUHAK-SAN (Mt).
23 Aug 50, PW's unit, 13th Div, was shelled by ROK Troops and bombed and strafed by aircraft for 2 days. Losses of men and equipment were heavy. PW believes that of his battalion of 1,200, about 1,000 became casualties. PW and 3 others in his Co were hiding when ROK Troops captured them.

Vehicles:11 YAG-4 trucks last seen at NAKTONG River west bank, date unknown.
Supplies:Average of 16 rice or barley balls a week.
5 trucks loaded with food accompanied unit to NAKTONG River. No food after crossing NAKTONG River. Lived off the land.
Additional Information:Morale of troops, fair. Thought war was over and their units were going to perform occupation duties.
