ATIS INTERROGATION REPORT NO. 2399 27 November 1950
FIELD REPORT (521 - MIS Det - Resumee) 21-24 November 1950
The following is a consolidation of pertinent information reported in ADVATIS/521 MIS Det Resumees of Interrogation 21-24 Nov 50. Individual interrogation report numbers were not assigned:
1. LEE, Ku San (李求相) 116th Unit, 3rd Bn, 45 mm Arty Plat. Inducted and assigned 3 Oct 50 at PUKCHON, received no training. 116th arrived SAMSU (三水) 5 Nov 50 from HUNGNAM (興南), PW deserted. 116th was organized at HUNGNAM o/a 8 Oct 50 and comprised 3 Inf Bns, 1x120mm Arty Co, 1x76mm Arty Co, 1x45mm Arty Co, 1 Med Co. Each Bn comprised 3 Inf Cos, 1 HMG Co, 1x82mm Mortar Plat, 1 Supply Plat, 1 Communications Plat, 1 Med Plat, 1x45mm Arty Plat, 1 AT Plat. 3rd Bn had 500 men. 116th Unit was called the LODONG (勞働) Regt.
2. LEE, Yung Sop (李咏燮) 585th Unit, 3d Bn 8th Co. Inducted 25 Aug 50 and assigned to 8th Co. 100 men of 585th ordered from KILCHU (吉州) to CHONGJIN (淸津) 30 Sep 50; balance of the unit was sent out in similar groups to other (unk) places. Arrived KYONGSONG (鏡城) with 94 others 3 Oct 50 where he deserted. 3d En had approx 500 men. Heard that 585th Unit was deactivated at KILCHU (date unk).
3. LEE, In Sik (李仁植) 58th Ind Regt, 1st Bn, 3d Co. Inducted and assigned in WONSAN (元山) 29 Oct 50. Regt arrived CHANGJIN (長津) 24 Oct 50, deserted 28 Oct 50. 58th Regt comprised 3 Bns of 3 Cos each; original strength was 700, but on 28 Oct 50 desertion of 200 reduced it to 500. Only 4 men in 3d Plat, 3d Co had rifles.
