ATIS INTERROGATION REPORT NO. 2317 21 November 1950
FIELD REPORT: 521 MIS Det Resumee 16/17 Nov 50
The following is a consolidation of pertinent information contained in ADVATIS FWD/521 MIS Det Resumes of Interrogation 16/17 Nov 50. No individual interrogation report numbers were assigned.
1. YUN, Tak Chin (尹凙鎭) 47th Div, 1st Regt, 1st Bn, 1st Co, 1st Plat. Inducted 28 Sep 50 and assigned to 1st Bn at TOGWON (德源). 1st Bn arrived WONSAN, 1 Oct 50, and CHOSIN Reservoir 27 Oct 50. PW deserted 2 Nov 50, PW has observed no other elements of the Div, but heard from his Plat Ldr that its main body was in MANCHURIA for reorganization. Majority of the 1st Bn were unarmed.
2. KIM, Hun Kyo (金興敎) 107th Security Forces Regt, 31st Bn, 1st Co, 1st Plat. 31st Bn moved to KAESONG (開城) from KANGHWA island (江華) 15 Sep 50. Defeated S of KAESONG, 8 Oct 50, and PW deserted. O/a 29 Oct 50, talked to several of 3,000 stragglers (10% armed) who said they were to assemble at CHANGJIN (長津) then proceed to MANCHURIA via KANGGYE (江界) and MANPOJIN (滿浦鎭).
3. CHO, Won Tae (趙元在) 145th Unit, Security Bn, 2nd Co, 1st Plat. Inducted and assigned 145th Unit at HAMHUNG, 26 Aug 50. Approx 350 men deserted at YUDAMNI (油屯里) o/a 5 Oct 50. 145th was a 4 Co factory security force armed with rifles and PPSH sub-machine guns. Original strength was 650.
4. HAN, Ki Ho (韓璂浩) 47th Div, 5th Regt, 2nd Bn, 6th Co. Inducted 18 Oct 50 at CHANGJIN (長津). Deserted at CHANGJIN, 30 Oct 50. 2nd Bn had 3x76mm howitzers, 50x Russian rifles and 10xPPSH sub-machine guns. 2nd Bn was enroute to the Manchurian border on 30 Oct 50.
5. CHO, Kyu Sol (曹圭卨) 1944 RR Security Unit, 2nd Bn, 8th Co. Inducted 3 Aug 50 at HUNSARI (興四里), assigned with 500 others to 1944 RR Security Unit at SONCHON (順川) 25 Aug 50. Tunnel guard until desertion on 20 Sep 50.
