3. MILITARY HISTORY:26 Sep 50 - Inclucted at SOKKU (俗厚) approx 16 km SW of PUKCHONG (北靑) and received 5 days of military training at the SOKKU Military Training Camp.
1 Oct 50 - PW and approx 1,000 trainees departed SOKKU by train and arrived at CHORWON (鐵原) 4 Oct 50 and were assigned to various units of the 32nd Div.
9 Oct 50 - The entire 32nd Div departed CHORWON.
25 Oct 50 - The 32nd Div arrived at KANGGYE (江界). At KANGGYE troops were informed their destination and assembly point was MANPOJIN (滿浦鎭).
25 Oct 50 - PW deserted while Div was enroute to MANPOJIN. While at KANGGYE PW observed a CCF unit of approx 500 men marching south towards MUPYONG NI (武平里). The above unit had about 20 Arty guns (type unk), each pulled by 3 horses. Troops were armed with rifles only.
O/a 2 Nov 50 - While passing through TONGMUNGO RI (東門巨里) PW observed a CCF unit of about 200 men marching south towards CHANGJIN (長津). Troops were armed with rifles only.
14 Nov 50 - Captured at ANSUMYON by 31st Inf Regt.
4. ORGANIZATION:The 32nd Div was composed of 3 Regts (1st, 2nd and 3rd) each of which comprised 3 Bns. Each Bn had 3 Cos. There was also a special Co attached to each Regt. (A Recon Co to the 1st Regt, an Engr Co to the 2nd Regt, and the 76mm Arty Co to the 3rd Regt.)
Strength of the 32nd Div was estimated to be approx 10,000 men.
The 32nd Div was said to have newly organized at. CHORWON o/a 4 Oct 50.
Only 1/3 of the entire strength was armed with rifles.
No large weapons were seen.
