MILITARY HISTORY:
17 Oct 50 - Inducted at POJON (浦全), approx 20 Kms W of KILCHU (吉州).
22 Oct 50 - Approx 2,000 recruits, in 8 groups, departed KILCHU on foot for HUNGAM D0NG (興巖洞 and MUSAN (茂山). At PUKKEISU (北溪水), near HAPSU (  ), recruits boarded freight cars.
25 Oct 50 - 4th, 5th, and 6th Bns arrived HUNGAM DONG and were assigned to 162nd Regt, Heard 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Bns went to MUSAN and were assigned to the 161st Regt, 7th and 8th Bns’ destinations unknown.
5 Nov 50 - Heard from 5th Bn en· that the 162nd Regt was attached to the 77th Div, 8th Corps. 29 sick personnel sent to MUSAN for physical exam.
12 Nov 50 - Orders issued by Regt Hqs to send 80 sick personnel (including PW) home. Discharge papers from 162nd Regt Hqs received.
12 Nov 50 - 2300 hrs, 80 men departed HUNGAM DONG by rail. Prior to departure, PW observed the rest of 162nd Regt awaiting arrival of troops from MUSAN. When they arrived at 2200 hrs, PW noticed friends from 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Bns, who told him that they were assigned to the 161st Regt, 77th Div, 8th Corps. Upcn PW’s departure, he noticed the 2 regts marching towards Pektosan (白頭山).
17 Nov 50 - Captured at home by ROKs.

Org: 8th Corps - 2 Divs composed of laborers from HOERYONG (會寧) and farmers from MUSAN (茂山). (hearsay from Co first sergeant).

Strength: 162nd Regt - approx 1,000 (ages-30-40)

(hear say, 5 Nov 50) There were approx 350 ROKs and 2 US PsW at MUSAN.

12 Nov 50, PW saw approx 2 regts of troops marching from MUSAN towards the TUMEN River.
