2. ASSESSMENT:
PW was cooperative. Information seems reliable in view of his long service.

3. T/O & E OF PW’S UNIT:

PW stated that the T/O & E of other units in the 3rd Bn, Arty Regt were the same.

4. DISPOSITION OF ABOVE UNITS:
3rd Bn, Arty Regt was located in a village approx 6 Km E of YONGCHON.
The Bn was attacked by ROK Army at the time of his capture on 10 Sep 50.

6. PERSONAL & UNIT HISTORY:
On 15 May 1949, PW was inducted into 2nd Sqd, 1st Plt, 9th Co, 3rd Bn, Arty Regt. 15th Div in RAJIN.
PW received one month of artillery training with the Unit.
3rd Bn, Arty Regt, 15th Div departed RAJIN on 22 Jun 50 by train and arrived in CHORWON on 25 Jun 50.
From CHORWON, the Bn fought their, way against SK Army and passed through CHUNCHON, HONGCHON, WONJU, OMSONG, UISONG, KUNWI and arrived in a village located approx 8 Km E of YONGCHON on 2 Sep 50. Date passed above-mentioned places were unknown because of night travel.
PW's company was preparing their gun positions when they were attacked by SK Army. During the enemy attack on 10 Sep 50, PW and two other men were captured.

7. ARTILLERY:
About 4 x 120mm and 3 x 76mm guns in the 3rd Bn area were observed in YONGCHON from 2 - 10 Sep 50.

8. FOOD AND AMMO SUPPLIES:
9th Co received one truck load of rice from 3rd Bn on 5 May 50. This was the only supply directly received until his capture on 10 Sep 50. There were twenty rounds of 122mm gun ammo left for two guns at the time of his capture on 10 Sep 50.

9. REPLACEMENTS:
3rd Bn did not receive any new replacements after passing the 38th Parallel.
Wounded personnel in his unit were sent to rear for medical treatment. Only one wounded returned to PW's unit after treatment.

10. ENEMY INTENTIONS:
Last objective of PW's unit was PUSAN via YONGCHON.
PW heard among his comrades that UN Troops take no prisoners.

11. MORALE:
The morale of PW's unit was high because most of troops had much combat experience, having fought since crossing the 38th Parallel. They were well disciplined soldiers.

12. CAPTURED EQUIPMENTS:
Carbines, M 1 Rifles and BARs were being utilized by other units.
