Fairly cooperative and spoke freely. Recommend further interrogation, possibly on Ministry of Interior in PYONGYANG.
3. T/O & E OF UNIT:3rd Plt was composed of 40 men; arms included: one (1) pistol, three (3) LMG (each with 7 x 47 rds drum), seven (7) SMG (each with 6 x 71 rd drum), and twenty-seven (27) M1891/30 Soviet rifles (300 to 500 rds per rifle).
2nd Company was composed of three (3) rifle platoons.
3rd Bn was composed of three (3) rifle companies and other unknown elements.
4. DISPOSITION OF ABOVE UNITS:8th Div Hq located in ANDONG on 23 Aug 50.
Bn Hq was located 3 Km East of KUNNI (軍咸) on 24 Aug 50.
5. ESTIMATED STRENGTH OF ABOVE UNITS:3rd Platoon: Originally - 40 men; Strength (28 Aug 50) - 32 men.
6. PERSONAL & UNIT HISTORY:Inducted on 27 Aug 48 at KAECHON. Received 6 months training (basic infantry) with 1st Regt, 3rd Div at KAECHON. Transferred to 7th Div in CHONGJUN during March 1949 where he received training in administration. Transferred to PYONGYANG during August 1949 where he received training at the procurement section of the Ministry of Interior. Discharged from Army and attended Middle School at PYONGYANG from Sep 49 to June 50.
Recalled to duty and joined the 6th Div at HAEJU on on 25 June 50. Unit entered SEOUL on 30 June 50. Informant commissioned as Jr Lt 20 Jul 50. Informant and 60 others departed SEOUL on 20 July 50 and traveled through INCHON, UMSONG, KOESAN, HAMCHANG to KUNWI.
Joined 8th Div at KUNWI on 20 Aug 50. Informant and his plat departed KUNWI on 22 Aug 50 and traveled through mountains to a place 12 Km N of YONGCHON where he went on a reconnaissance patrol and was captured by ROK troops on 28 Aug 50.

8. ARMOR:Observed 1 x T-34 tank leaving KUNWI and heading South on 20 Aug 50.
9. FOOD & AMMO SUPPLIES:Food was confiscated from captured territory. Hearsay: 20 Jul 50.
A large ammo dump is located in the former ROK troop barracks in the YONGSAN sector of SEOUL. Ammo was transported here from PYONGYANG and was distributed from here to various North Korean units in South KOREA.
On June 50, observed a brick building 30m x 30m located 8 Km East of PYONGYANG RR station being used to manufacture rifle ammo.
REPLACEMENTS:
Wounded personnel were sent to a hospital in KUNWI. When advancing, wounded personnel were frequently left behind because they were burdens.
10. ENEMY INTENTIONS:The Objective of 8th Div was YONGCHON.
The mission of the PW’s platoon was to locate enemy troops, attack then withdraw and hit again from another direction to make the enemy think that a large force was attacking.
11. MORALE:Morale of troops was low due to air strikes.
12. OTHER UNITS:Heard that 1st and 6th Divisions were occupying TAEGU.
13. US PW'S:Observed 40 US PW's entering SEOUL on 15 Jul 50.
