Subject seemed very cooperative but had limited information. Seemed to be very unobservant. Had not seen or heard of any surrender leaflets.

Training: 6 Apr 50 - D/U Jun 50: Sinuiju Democratic Young Men’s Trng Ctr as member Eng Bn, 13th Div. Trng received; sapper trng with steel bars, methods of exploding wired booby traps, bridging and basic inf trng. Strength 300 men.

Tactical Movements:
D/U Jun 50 - Entire 13th Div Departed SINUIJU by rail.
18 Jun 50 - Entire 13th Div arrive HAEJU (海州).
26 Jun 50 - Entire Div arrived SANGJU via KAESONG (開城), SEOUL (京城), CH’UNGJU (忠州) and MUNGYONG (聞慶). Div underwent frequent air attacks. Number of casualties unknown.
27 Jun 50 - Div departed SANGJU.
29 Jun 50 - 0300, Inf crossed river at point 50 meters S NAKTONG-Ni Bridge. All units 13th Div less arty crossed at same point by 0400. Advanced south along T’AEGU-SANGJU highway.
o/a 1 Aug 50 - Arty Regt 13th Regt crossed river at point 30 m S of NAKTONG-Ni Bridge. Crossing aided by engineers 15th Div who were also transporting equipment of 15th Div at that time (hearsay). The River bed was raised and made firm with rocks and sand bags, thus making it shallow enough to facilitate the crossing (hearsay).
14 Aug 50 - Eng Bn, 13th Div arrived KASAN-Myon (嘉山面) (1150-1460). Entire 13th Div in area. Div disposition as follows: 19th Regt situated immediately east of TAEGU-SANGJU highway east of YUHAK-SAN (1140-1460), 21st Regt situated on eastern slope of YUHAK-SAN, 23rd Regt situated 200 m North of 21st Regt. Div Arty Regt located 2 km NW 23rd Regt and due N of YUHAK-SAN. Div Eng Bn deployed 6 km NNE 19th Regt. Div engaged enemy every night since crossing NAKTONG River. Number of casualties unk, but subject obs Div strength was down to about ½.
21 Aug 50 - PW saw elements 15th Div moving south through KASAN-Myon. Objective, (hearsay) TAEGU.
23 Aug 50 - Last elements 15th seen advancing south (toward TAEGU) through KASAN-Myon. 13th Div engaged during entire period.
25 Aug 50 - 13th Div positions unchanged. Engagements fought at nights only. Subject dispatched by Co Cmdr to see if road east of KASAN-Myon to first junction was damaged by SU-76 traffic (See Arty). Sujbect went to sleep upon arrival and was captured.

6 x SU-76 observed 20 Aug 50 on highway N of KASAN-Myon. SU-76’s were going N and S on TAEGU-SANGJU highway. Prabaly maneuvering.

Morale: Morale was low due to shortage of food. The men were not very alert. Work that should be completed in one hour usually took 2 to 3 hours.
