Military History:Inducted 1 Jul 50, WONSAN. PW and 300 unarmed replacements left WONSAN without military training 6 Jul 50 by rail arriving CH’ORWON 9 Jul 50. Departed CH’ORWON 10 Jul 50 - marched arrived HONGCH’ON (洪川) 12 Jul 50. At HONGCH’ON, PW and 300 replacements trained as riflemen for 15 days. On 26 Jul 50 PW and 300 received Jap M99 rifles, 50 rounds and 2 grenades. The group organized 2 units and one unit left for SEOUL 26 Jul 50 and his unit departed HONGCH’ON 29 Jul 50. Marched arriving HAMCH'ANG (咸昌). PW and 43 men left HAMCH'ANG and marched via SNAGJU (商州), SINSANG-NI, NAKTONG-NI arrived NAKSONG-DONG. 17 Aug 50 PW heard that 1st Regt Hq 1st Div stationed vicinity of NAKSONG-DONG.
At NAKSONG-DONG PW was assigned to signal platoon 1st Regt, 1st Div. On night of 19 Aug 50 PW deserted from the unit and wandered for 3 days. Captured by ROK unit 23 Aug 50 at HASAN-DONG (下山洞) approx 2 km SSE of NAKSONG-DONG.
Armor:10 x JS-3 tanks observed 4 km S of HAMCH’ANG. Date unknown.
Artillery:Five truck drawn 57mm M1943 AT guns observed 4 km S of HAMCHANG. Date unknown.
Vehicles:One GAZ-51 truck attached to Signal Plt hauled food and telephone wire. Last seen at NAKSONG-DONG 19 Aug 50.
Supplies:Received average of 2 rice balls a day. Ammunition last received at HONGCH’ON. 50 rounds left.
