Cooperative but information limited due to lack of education and poor memory.
Military History:PW inducted 23 Jul 48 at WONSAN. Trained as rifleman at MUNCH’ON (文川) 6 months. Departed MUNCH’ON 18 Jun 50 - arrived CH’UNCH’ON (春川) 3 Jul 50. Departed CH’UNCH’ON 4 Jul 50 - arrived ANDONG 8 Aug 50 via WONJU, CH’UNGJU, and TANYANG. Departed ANDONG 10 Aug 50 - marched - arrived KIGYE o/a 15 Aug 50. When PW went to farmer’s house for rice, he was captured by ROK unit at KIGYE on 18 Aug 50.
Personalities:7th Div CG: CH’OE CHUN GUK (崔준국), rank unknown. PW heard that at WONJU CH’OE CHUN GUK replaced CHON U (全宇).
8th Co CO: NA KAP SUL (,羅갑슬), rank Lt (Sr), age 33
1st Plt ldr: CHON CHUN HWAN (全준환), Jr Lt, age 24
Foreign Elements:2nd Regt, 7th Div received 1,000 Koreans who formerly were with the CCF from MANCHURIA Apr 50.

Riflemen armed with Jap type 99 rifles, 70 rounds and 3-4 grenades. Sqd ldrs - PPsh submachine guns, two drums (142 rounds), 4 grenades. One HMG Co in 3rd Bn. 3 x Japanese HMGs.
Mortar Co - 6 x mortars, type unknown (2 mortars were left on 18 Aug 50)
8th Co - 12 x LMGs made in MANCHURIA (5 x LMGs were left on 18 Aug 50)
1st Plt - 4 x LMGs, 150 rounds per gun (2 LMGs, 200 rounds were left on 18 Aug 50)
Losses: 2nd Regt - 1,500 men, 4 mortars, 7 LMGs, 3 trucks as of 18 Aug 50.
Armor:6 x JS-1 tanks with 7th Div at ANDONG 10 Aug 50, however, PW heard from others that 4 were destroyed by UN aircraft.
Artillery:2 x 122mm M1910/30 Howitzers and 6 x 85mm AT guns observed 4 km North of KIGYE 15 Aug 50.
Vehicles:3 x GAZ-51 trucks attached to the Regt hauled food and ammunition. All of the trucks were destroyed by UN aircraft near ANDONG. 3 ox carts used to haul battalion food and ammunition last seen at ANDONG.
Supplies:Received average of two rice balls a day. However, no food delivered after 10 Aug 50. Took rice from farmers. 10 rounds per man received 4 km SE of ANDONG. Average of 40 rounds per man left.
Enemy Intentions:Objective of 2nd Regt was to out the railroad between P’OHANGDONG and T’AEGU.
