PW’s unit joined the 7th Div at WONJU. Heard that the 1st Div and 7th Div were alternately in action, ? Aug 50. Saw considerable ammunition and good in railroad tunnels in WONJU. Also were utilized as headquarters and quarters for high ranking officers.
All tunnels seen by PW during travel to KIGYE were used to stored ammunition and good. Observed 19 x T-34/85 tanks, .30 x 82-mm M1937 Mortars, 8 x 160-mm M1943 Mortars, 150 x Maxim HMG’s M1910, on Sokolav Mounts, 500 DP LMG’s, 1,000 PPsh M1941 Submachine guns, 7 Aug 50 in CH’ONG-SONG with the 7th Div.

Occupation and policing of areas captured by the 7th Div. PW’s Unit armed with rifles, pistols and carbines.
Supplies:Main supply dump for NE Sector was located at the base of mountains located S, NE, N and NW of ANDONG. Food, ammunition, equipment, etc are stored in plts camouflaged over with dirt. PW stated that US planes usually bombed the town but did not touch the outskirts where these dumps were located. PW made 5 or 6 trips to the food dump located S of ANDONG about 300 m S of NAKTONG River in a grove of trees. The dumps were well guarded by Security troops and there were many anti-aircraft gun positions in the mountains around the town.
All supplies used by NKPA in CH’ONG-SONG, YONGDOK, P’OHANG-DONG and KIGYE Areas came from ANDONG. Every night, good and ammunition supply trucks went to ANDONG to pick up supplies. 6 to 9 trucks nightly.
PW’s unit of 800 men engaged the ROK 16th Regt at KIGYE for tow days, and PW was captured after he was wounded in the stomach and right leg.
