Military History:3rd Regiment was formed at HAEJU. All the men of the 3rd Regt joined the unit between 1 - 7 Jul 50. The 3rd Regt left HAEJU 29 Jul 50 by rail and detrained at TONSONG 30 Jul 50. The 3rd Regt then marched south thru SEOUL, SUWON, TAEJON, CHINJU and arrived at KOSONG 16 Aug 50. From KOSONG the 1st Bn and elements of the 3rd Bn then departed for T’ONGYOUNG. First contact with enemy was at T’ONGYONG.
T/O of PW’s Unit:7th Div composed of the 3rd Regt and two (2) unidentified Infantry Regiments; an Arty Regiment.

The 3rd Battalion, 3rd Regiment was composed of three (3) infantry companies. Strength about 150 men; squad leaders carried PPsh 1943 submachine guns. Co had 15 x LMG’s, 2 x HMG’s, 6 x pistols and an unknown number of Russian M1943 carines; 1 x AT rifle platoon with 23 men, 9 x PTRS-41, and one (1) HMG platoon (stregnth unknown).
