PW had severe frostbitten feet at time of interrogation. Was cooperative and of average intelligence. Information obtained is considered fairly reliable. Recommended for further interrogation.
a. Chronology:
PW entered NK Army at KUNSAN 20 Sep 50. Attached to 6th NK Div as ammo bearer. Attended NK Agent School at KUMHWA during period 5 Nov 50 to 15 Nov 50. Approx 101 men attended classes. Reassigned to Rcn Co, II Corps (NK).
PW and 13 others departed KUMHWA CT6638 to obtain info on disposition of UN Forces in SEOUL - INCHON area on 19 Dec 50.
Mission:
1. If Japanese troops landed at INCHON. When and number of troops. Type and number of weapons.
2. Disposition and number of UN troops located in INCHON - SEOUL area. Types of weapons and number.
The above info was to be made available by 28 Dec 50 to Rcn Co Hqs located in KUMHWA.
The following route taken:
TAMONG-NI CT8126, SACHANG-NI CT7014, CHUNG-NI CT4318. At TAMONG-NI observed 50 NK troops in village armed with rifles and 2 LMGs on 19 Dec 50. Immediately after crossing the 38th parallel PW and HAN, Kui Man dropped out from the group (location unk) due to bad feet. (Subject and HAN, Kui Man suffering from frostbite). No heavy weapons, tanks, or CCF observed on route.
b. Other Units:
PW heard that II Corps Hqs located at CHORWON CT4434 as of 19 Dec 50. II Corps composed of 4th, 5th, 6th, 9th divisions and 1 Independent Regt. Present location of divisions unknown.
Rcn Co composed of 50 men located at KUMHWA. Also 100 Security Guards. No knowledge of other units in KUMHWA.
PW stated that his Co commander informed troops that the NK armies’ intentions are to cross 38th parallel into South KOREA. The objective of II NK Corps is to capture and occupy UIJONGBU and SEOUL.
Informed by Co commander that 150,000 Japanese troops were now in South KOREA.
