4 Dec 26 - Born in MANCHURIA, CHILIN-SHENG, TUNHUA-HSIEN, HUANGNIHOTZU (滿洲 吉林省 敦化縣 黃泥子).
Feb 27 - Oct 45 - Moved to MUKDEN-SHENG, HSIFENG-HSIEN, FANGMU-TSUN, NINGYUAN-TUN (奉天省 西豊縣 房木村 寧遠屯), and lived by farming.
Oct 45 - Dec 46 - Moved to KAIYUAN (開原), to live by farming.
25 Dec 46 - Volunteered for the Korean Volunteer Army at KAIYUAN.
27 Dec 46 - The unit moved to TUNG HUA (通化).
Apr 48 - The unit was renamed as the IND 4th Division.
14 Nov 48 - Moved into SHENYANG (瀋陽) city and worked as a Supply Officer.
Dec 48 - Jul 49 - The unit was redesignated as the 166th Infantry Division and was assigned to guard SHENYANG.
18 Jul 49 - Left SHENYANG city abroad a train.
23 Jul 49 - Entered KOREA from SINUIJU (新義州). The same day the division was redesignated as the 6th Division.
27 Jul 49 - PW was promoted to the grade of 1st Lt.

DIVISION OPERATION:

REMARKS:
The Division level sections were called KO (科), and the Regimental level sections were called KU (股). The Ind 4th Division was renamed as the 166th Division in the middle of Dec 48.

6. LOCATION OF UNIT AT TIME OF DEPARTURE:
The 166th Division was stationed at SHENYANG before departing for KOREA on 18 Jul 48.

7. RECRUITING PROGRAM:
PW stated that in every Prefecture (縣), there was a Democratic League led by an active Communist member. The leader would receive orders secretly from the Army to recruit a certain number of men. The leader in turn would assemble the members who were not able to state their own opinion openly. The leader would find some volunteers prior to the meeting, and have them volunteer first at the end of the meeting. Then they would appeal to the other people and thus obtain the required number of volunteers.
