FIELD REPORT (24 DIV - LDI - 0163) 25 January 1951

1. PERSONAL DETAILS:
NAME: SHIM Chol Koo (Korean)

OCCUPATION: Farmer
PLACE OF BIRTH: CHINAE-RI, PUNGNAE-MYON, YOUJU-GUN.
PRESENT ADDRESS: Same as above.

2. ALLEGED CCF AGENT:
On or about 202300 Jan 51 approx 30 CCF troops and an NK interpreter came into PW’s home located in CHINAE-RI CS 8429 and forced him to go along with them to IHQ-RI CS 8427. Arrived at IHO-RI on or about 210330 Jan 51. Immediately upon arrival requested to cross river and obtain information on UN troops at YONCHON approx 11/2 miles W of IHO-RI. Information to be reported back at the earlies possible date. Returned with negative report without crossing river 1/2 hour later. Departed IHO-RI on 210430 Jan 51 with another Korean civilian and 30 CCF troops for OGUM-NI by way of CHONSONG-NI. Enroute picked up another Korean civilian at CHONSONG-NI. Arrived at OGUM-NI at 210700 Jan 51. At this located subject and 2 other Koreans were confined in a house until 221800 Jan 51. At 211800 Jan 51 PW was told by the CCF to proceed to SHINNAM-NI to help evacuate 6 wounded CCF’s (stretcher cases) to LUKKO-RI located approx 4 km north of KOKSU-RI. Picked up wounded and returned to OGUM-NI. Departed OGUM-NI with 6 wounded and 300 other CCF troops on 221900 Jan 51. On this trip observed 7 pack horses, 1 mortar and approx 16 shells (cal unk) being carried by the CCF troops. Content of cargo carried by pack horse unknown. Arrived at MUKKO-RI at 230300 Jan 51. No other CCF or NK troops, heavy weapons, vehicles or tanks observed enroute. Immediately upon arrival he was told to return to his home. Enroute to his home was picked up vic CS 8128 at 241530 Jan 51 by elements of 21st RCT.
