Attitude was hesitant in giving information. Age - 36, Education - None. Reliability - Unknown.
3. MILITARY HISTORY:15 Jul 50 - Subject was inducted at KYONGSONG (鏡城) and sent to CHONGJIN (淸津). Assigned to the 22nd Bn, 234th Unit.
O/a 28 Oct 50 - Unit moved to MUSAN (茂山) by foot.
11 Nov - Arrived at MUSAN,
2 Dec - Subject and 9 others left MUSAN by foot and train.
7 Dec - Party arrived at KILCHU (吉州). 3 men were separated here. Seven proceeded to HONGWON (洪原).
10 Dec 50 - The seven men assigned and arrived at HONGWON by train. Subject lost the other 6 men at HONGWON due to crowded traffic condition and proceeded to HAMHUNG alone.
11 Dec 50 - Arrived at HAMHUNG and was picked up by the local police authority when subject was unable to produce a travel pass.
4. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:Subject stated that the ten men were members of the 22nd Bn, 234th Unit located at MASAN (茂山) and were ordered to obtain the following information:
1. Strength of US and ROK Units in HAMHUNG and HUNGNAM area, and their movements.
2. Type of equipment, number of vehicles and tanks.
3. Location of troop concentration.
4. Location and amount of ammo supplies.
5. Number of airplanes.
Following instructions were given by the party leader CHI, Sun Yong (池承龍) M/Sgt:
1. All members will proceed to HAMHUNG and HUNGNAM area to obtain information by observation of military installations.
2. All members will rendezvous at a lone house located approximately 1/4 mile east of a railroad station immediately north of HAMHUNG RR Station. House is located on the east side of a highway running in a northsouth direction. House will be easy to be found since there is no others in the vicinity. Time will be 15 Dec 50 between 1500 hours and 1600 hours.
3. Members will not enter this house but will meet in an area around the house.
4. Information will be consolidated and all members will proceed to MUSAN by 22 Dec 50 and report to MA PAL YONG (馬八龍) M/Sgt (acting Assistant Bn CO).
5. In case of capture, no one will reveal any information of mission, especially the place of redenzvous.
6. In case one does not show up at the redenzvous point between the appointed time, others will proceed to MUSAN without waiting.

PW has never been assigned this type of mission before. PW was captured before he could obtain any information.
5. TROOP CONCENTRATION AT MUSAN:Approximately 800 men, remnants of unknown units were formed into a 234th Unit which consisted of three battalions, the 21st, 22nd and 23rd. Since there were no officers, ranking NCO's CHI SUN YONG (池承龍) and MA PAL YONG (馬八龍), both M/Sgts were in command of the Unit. All the men were armed with rifles or Russian SMGs. They had 13 cases of ammo for the rifles and SMGs. There were 5 LMG. No other units were observed.
