PW was unable to estimate distance or direction of this power plant from the RR station or any other permanent land marks. (Dam had been started by the Japanese)
The power plant was called the TONGNO-GANG HYDRO-ELECTRIC POWER PLANT and was under construction by the Industrial Ministry of the NK People’s Govt.
AREA - The TONGNO River was approx 100 m wide 3 m deep and flowed gently to the W. It was only 2m from the bank of river to the road located on side of river. The inclined surface, from both these ends of the pipe, which led to the water level was being panned with reinforced concrete 20m wide. No other facilities located in area.
Intentions - This hydro-electric power plant was first constructed by the Japanese but destroyed by the flood before its completion. The reconstruction was started by the NK govt in 1946 and planned to be completed in 1950.
