2. ASSESSMENT:
Subject was very cooperative.
Physical condition: Good
Reliability: Very reliable

3. MILITARY HISTORY:
20 Aug ‘50 - Inducted in the Army at SARIWON and attached to 4 Replacement Bn. There were 1, 2, 3, and 4 Replacement Bns, strength of each Bn was approx 1,000 men.
30 Aug ‘50 - All 4 Bns departed SARIWON.
4 Sep ‘50 - Arrived at KUMCHON (金川) and reorganized into an Inf Regt (number unknown) composed of 3 Bns.
1 and 2 Bn were Inf Bns and 3 Bn was HMG Bn.
Strength of each Bn was approx 1185 men. There was one independent engineer battalion of approx 450 men.
Subject was assigned to 1 Plt, 2 Co as common laborer.
24 Sep ‘50 - Inf Regt and Indep Eng Bn departed KUMCHON. No other units in area.
29 Sep ‘50 - Inf Regt and Indep Eng Bn arrived at KUMCHONNI (金村) approx 8km south of MUNSAN. No other troops observed.
2 Oct ‘50 - Inf Regt and Indep Eng Bn retreated to a hill on the north side of IMJIN river (approx 1 km NW of MUNSAN) after crossing bridge and constructed defense positions,

Subject often observed field grade Russian (1) officer at KUMCHON (金川) North Korea.

8. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
PW lived at CHINNAMPO for about 10 years. He hid in the mountains (USAN located 1km NW of CHINNAMPO city) for about 9 months to avoid the drafts but was finally forced to return home and was drafted with many others who had been in hiding. Source estimates that there were about 4,000 men in hiding and some of them came all the way from PYONGYANG.
