3. REMARKS:Subject was inducted in the Army 19 Aug 50 at SINUIJU. On 15 Sep 50 70th Inf Regt Hq moved from SINUIJU to SUWON by foot via SEOUL.
Strength of 70th Inf Regt was approx 1,800 men. There were 3 Inf Bns in 70th Regt and one transportation Co. When his unit entered SEOUL 13 Sep 50, one arty Co was added to 70th Inf Regt. This arty Co had 10 x 6 inch field guns.
The 70th Inf Regt Bn was located in the Agriculture College in SUWON.
On 18 Sep 50, 1st, 2nd and 3rd Bns of the 70th Regt were stationed at ANSAN approx 28 km N of SUWON. On 20 Sep 50 while engaged with UN Forces the 3rd Bn remained and fought at ANSAN, but the 1st Bn and 2nd Bn retreated toward the South. 1st Bn and 2nd Bn had two field guns, about 6 light machine guns and every man in the Regt was equipped with a rifle and 120 rounds of ammunition.
Location of food ammunition dumps was in the Agriculture College warehouse in SUWON.
While his units was in SEOUL, 9 Sep 50, subject heard that the 18th Div was located in SEOUL. He also heard from his Sqd leader that all American PsW were being sent to PYONGYANG.
