Subject was cooperative and talked freely. Information here-in can be considered fairly reliable.
3. REMARKS:70th Regt, 3rd Bn, 2nd Co, was stationed in SINUIJU (新義州), when subject was inducted in the unit forcefully on B Aug 50. His unit left there on 28 Aug 50, beaded for INCHON.
On the way to INCHON, subject deserted with 6 other men at a place called "SEN GUN" (phonetic) approx 8 km from YONG DONG PO (永登浦).
He was captured by "C" Btry 48th FA at SHIN CHONG LI.
There were 3 companies in each Bn. Subject was with 3rd Bn. Three infantry battalions were under 70th Regt. In each company there was one heavy machine-gun platoon and three infantry platoons. There were twenty men in a heavy machine-gun platoon and forty men in an infantry platoon.
There was one light machine-gun in each inf platoon and two heavy and one light machine-guns in the heavy machine gun platoon.
Basic load of each man was 100 rounds of rifle ammunition. There were no hand grenades.
Strength of a Bn was estimated at approx 600 men.
