ATIS INTERROGATION REPORT NO. 1303　26 September 1950

FIELD REPORT (521 - MISD - 0010)　22 September 1950

PW was intelligent and cooperative and information considered reliable.

Inducted 26 Jul 50 at SINUIJU (新義州) into the 2nd Bn of the 70th Regt. Believes that a division was in process of being formed.

But at the time the 70th Regt left SINUIJU on the night of 28 Aug 50, the only unit completed was his regt. Unit arrived SUIGEN (水原) about 11th Sep 50. Travelled by train and marched at night.

Remained at SUIGEN until they were engaged and was captured 20 Sep 50 at SENGSANUN-Ni (松山里). Believes entire Regt was engaged. Believes his Bn retreated with few casualties. At SINUIJU he saw many CCF moving south prior to Jun 50, but since that time he has seen none at all. Heard that the CCF are the best in the world and many are located in MANCHURIA.

Saw Russian officers inspecting troops and supervising training at the time he was drafted. Some Russian officers departed south after war started and left their families in SINUIJU.
