2. ASSESSMENT:
PW was cooperative, information considered reliable.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Chronology:
1 Aug 50: Conscripted at HUNGJU-RI, (黃州里) and took basic training, Became a Jr Lt.
11 Sep 50: Arrived at KYONGSONG (京城), assigned to 36th Bn, Ind 107 Regt.
? Oct 50: 36th Bn retreated to SONHAK-SAN where the 107th Regt was located.
14 Oct 50: The entire 107 Regt was surrounded by UN forces, and completely disorganized. PW hid in the mountains.
16 Oct 50: PW surrendered.

Unit Organization & Strength:
Original Organization & Strength:
The 107th Regt was composed of three Bns and each Bn was composed of three Cos.
PW estimated the total strength of the regiment to be approx 1,500 men. Approx 500 men in each Bn.

Equipment:
Nine HMG’s; 20 IMG’s; and 20 Sub MG’s (all Russian made).

Dispositions:
The 635 unit, Ind Arty Bn and Ind HMG Co, also had defensive positions established on the SUNHAK MT. These units were also disorganized when surrounded by UN Forces.

Intentions:
The intention of the 36th Bn Ind 107 Regt was to occupy. KYONGSONG, However, they received word that UN forces landed at INCHON (仁川), and were ordered to attack from NE of KYONGSONG. Instead, they retreated.

Morale & Propaganda:
Morale of the men was low because they were forced into the service, and majority of the men hardly knew how to fire a rifle.
After reading US propaganda leaflets, PW intended to desert his unit at the first opportunity.
