Information is fairly reliable, informant was cooperative, however, lacked information.
3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:Chronology:
12 Jul 50 - Inducted at PYONGYANG and assigned to Defense Ministry.
29 Jul 50 - Left for HAEJU and was assigned to the Communication Co, 74th Regt, 43rd Div. Stayed there about 2 months.
2 Oct 50 - Left for HWAYON MYON, stayed for 15 days and went to SARIWON
18 Oct 50 - Arrived at SARIWON and was captured by the UN forces.
Unit Organization and Strength:
74th Regt was composed of 3 Bns and his unit, the communication Co, was directly attached to the 74th Regt. There were other sub units attached to tho Regt.
Equipment:
One Russian made switchboard (10 drops); 8 telephones; and 100 m of telephone wire. They frequently used wires that were hanging from broken poles.
Unit Duties:
Layed wire from one Bn to another.
Personalities:
Regt CO, LEE, Tu Ik, Colonel, age about 30.
Morale & Propaganda :
Morale was low due to forceable induction.
Propaganda leaflets were very effective.
