PW was wounded on left knee and on the right shoulder at time of capture. He was still suffering and was not able to walk. PW was engaged in farming until drafted in the NKA on 15 Apr 50. He was cooperative and was of average intelligence. Information obtained is considered fairly reliable. He is not recommended for further interrogation.
3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:a. PW was forced into the NKA at WOLHANG-RI on 15 Apr 50 and received 3 months of basic training at SUKCHON-GUN, HAMKYONG NAM-DO. Left SOKCHONG on 28 July 50 and proceeded to SONGJU-GUN by foot which took 2 months. They did not encounter any enemy forces until 20 Sept 50 in vic of SUMNAM-MYUNG (1136-1440).
b. Unit Organization and Strength:
The 17th Regt was called the “5th Chiso” unit and the other two Regts were called the “4th Chiso and 6th Chiso.” Each Regt consisted of 3 Inf Bn and an automatic Weapon Company. Each Bn had 6 companies. Automatic Weapons Company consisted of 3 Plt with 2 squads (10 men to a sqd). Original strength of Co 60, present 45.
c. Equipment:
Every member of the Automatic Weapon Company were armed with a PPSH but had no other weapons.
d. Unit Duties:
The Automatic Weapon Company performed special duties which were designated by the Regimental Commander.
e. Dispositions:
PW heard that the Div CP was located 60 Km North from the front lino (exect position unk). As of 201200 the 17th Regt CP was located in via SONGJU (1127-1444.4). On 192100 Sept PW observed 3 - 120mm arty piece between houses in ONGJU (1127-1444.5). This gun emplacement was approx 500 meters from the Regimental CP. On 202200 PW observed 2 - 45mm being hauled back to the rear. No tanks were observed. At present the Weapon Company is with the Regimental CP.
f. Communication:
Telephones are used between Regimental CP, Division, and Bn CP. Lines are also utilized between the CP and gun positions. Liaison soldiers are also used between the Regimental CP and Division CP.
g. Intentions:
Objective of the 24th Division was to capture TAEGU.

i. Morale & Propaganda:
Morale of PWs unit was low. While up North everyone relieved they ware going to win the war but after arriving at the front line, majority of the men have changed their mind. PW had seen surrender leaflets twice but did not believe in it.
