1. PERSONAL DETAILS:

2. CIRCUMSTANCES OF CAPTURE:
1st Plat of 6th Co, 2d Bn, 3d Regt, 12th Div was dug in on a hill approx vic DS215516 and, when attacked by UN forces, 4 men of 1st Plat were captured at same location 1400 hr 9 Mar 51.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
a. Disposition:
O/a 28 FEb 51 the 2d Bn of 3d Regt, 12th Div consisting of 200 men arrived at hill (DS215516) and dug in on the west slope of hill facing a wide road.
0700 hr 8 Mar 51, 2d Bn was attacked by UN troops, led by tanks; so PW surrendered without firing a shot.
Did not counterattack dut to lack of heavy weapons.
Heard from his Plat ldr that 3d Regt CP was approx 4 km N of DS215516 as of 8 Mar 51.
Also heard from his Plat ldr that the 1st and 3d Bn of 3d Regt were dug in on hill immediately north of 2d Bn as of 8 Mar 51.
8 Mar 51, heard from his Plat Ldr that 12th Div CP was approx 12 km N of hill (DS215516).

b. Mission:
Mission of 2d Bn was to protect the wide road and also junction of wide road.

c. Organization and Strength:
2d Bn had the 4th (50 men), 5th (50 men) and 6th (40 men) Rifle Co, HMG Co (60 men), Mortar Co (40 men), Comm Plat, and Ammo Bearer Plat.

d. Weapons:
Weapons of 2d Bn: 3x82mm mortars, 3HMG, 1LMG with about 1,000 rd in each Plat, 5-6 PPSH SMG 400 rd ea (each Plat) and each soldier had rifles with 300 rd of ammo and 2 hand grenades.

e. CCF:
O/a 1 Mar 51, heard from his Plat Ldr that CCF troops were on their north flank.

f. Personalities:
PAK Che Ok (26), Sr Lt, 6th Co CO.

g. Ammo Supply:
O/a 28 Feb 51 each soldier received 300 rd of rifle ammo at hill (DS215516).

h. Food supply:
Insufficient; sometimes they went without food all day.

i. Clothing:
All wore winter uniforms.

j. Physical Condition:
Poor, dut to insufficient food, sleep, and from fatigue.

k. Contagious Disease:
3 men in his Plat were suffering from an unk disease. Symptoms were high high fever and loss of hair.

l. Morale:
Low, because of heavy Arty and air bombardment.

m. Night Air Bombardment:
Bombs are dropped where lights can be seen but are not very effective.
