PW appears to be in good physical condition. PW has 7 years previous service in the CNA. 1 year in the CCF. Cooperative and of average intelligence.

a. Unit Strength:
42d Army was vic YANGPYONG in Jan 51. 42d Army then moved to the east. PW was wounded and left behind. PW was picked up by member of 53d Army and has been with that unit until captured 102015 Mar 1951.
Strength of 3d Co (53d Army) is approx 40.
b. Unit disposition:
9 Mar 51 3d Co and 1st Bn CP (53d Army) located on high ground approximately 3 km N of place of capture.
c. Unit Mission:
8 Mar 51 received orders from the Political officer and Platoon leader (Co Commander KIA) to defend high ground at all cost. Received no further orders.
d. Adjacent units:
In Jan 51, prior to becoming a straggler, company political officer stated that the 38th, 42d, 50th and the 52d Armies were in the general area along the HAN River. Political officer stated that the CCF armies were in the following order (from SEOUL east along HAN River): 50th, 38th and 53d Armies.
e. Weapons:
Company: 2 LMG (500 rd ea)
Battalion: 2x60mm mortars (50 rd ea)
2x61mm mortars (25 rd ea)
2xLMG (1000 rd ea)
f. Food:
Insufficient. No supplies for the past month. Food is procured locally. Ate only millet and dried noodles.
g. Morale:
Morale is low due to lack of food, weapons inferior to those of the UN Forces, and heavy artillery and air attacks.
h. Propaganda:
PW saw leaflets and also heard broadcasts. PW has leaflet in his possession. Leaflets are effective.
i. Replacements:
PW company received four replacements one weak ago. Replacement stated that approximately 1000 of them arrived in KOREA and were assigned to the 38th and the 53d Armies. They stated that they left HUPEI Province, CHINA, in Jan 51.
j. Effect of night air attack:
About two weeks ago, PW saw one squad of man killed by a night air attack.
