c. Unit Location:
(1) The 8th Co was on the crest of hill 315 (mt FUMAN-SAN) CS 394511 when last seen 0700 14 Feb 51.
(2) The 7th Co was dug in on a hill 2,000 meters SW of 8th Co position. Arrived 10 Feb 51 after retreating from south.
d. Unit Mission:
To defend S bank of HAN River until the unit around SEOUL completed reorganization and receive fresh supplies.
e. Location and identification of other units:
The CCF 38th and 40th Armies were in SEOUL because he talked to members of these armies when he passed through SEOUL a month ago.
f. Heavy Weapons:
(1) 60mm mortars - Two to 8th Co.
(2) 82mm mortars - Two to 3d Bn.
g. Reinforcements:
The 150th Div has not received any replacements since coming to KOREA nor does he know of any reinforcements immediately available.
h. River Crossing:
PW does not know where he crossed HAN River when coming S because they crossed it at night. The crossing was made over ice and no bridging equipment was used.
i. Night Bombing:
UN night air bombing is accurate. Had 30 casualties in his Bn.
j. UN Artillery of
(1) Night movements are usually made over mountain trails.
(2) Disperse and hit the ground when suddenly shelled.
(3) Fragment from artillery air burst do enter foxholes.
(4) Air bursts are feared most.
(5) Night fire keeps men awake.
(6) When in position, men stay in foxholes or bombshelters. When on the move, they advance in dispersed position when taken under arty.
(7) US artillery considered accurate.
(8) White phosphorous has greater effect than ordinary shells and causes men to get out of their foxholes.
(9) No known plan or method of destroying UN artillery.
