1. PERSONAL DETAILS:

2. ASSESSMENT:
PW surrendered voluntarily to "B" Co, 2nd Bn, 5th Bn, 5th RCT. Was in good physical condition. PW was cooperative and of average intelligence. Information considered fairly reliable. Recommended for further interrogation.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
a. Chronology:
PW was formerly PFC in Nationalist Army. Captured by CCF 13 Jan 49 at TIENTSEN. Immediately assigned to 38th Army, 112th Div, 334th Regt. 38th Army crossed into KOREA at CHIAN on or about 11 Oct 50.
Arrived 38th parallel on or about 27 Dec 50. Heard 38th Army crossed parallel on or about 2 Jan 51. Due to illness PW was left behind and later rejoined unit on or about 13 Jan 51 at KWANJU CS 3948 via POCHON CS 4494. 2nd Bn Hqs located at KWANJU. 2nd Bn advanced to vic CS 576308 arriving on or about 27 Jan 51. Set up defensive positions and were told to hold line at all costs. When UN Forces attacked, officers and men retreated leaving weapons behind. Due to illness PW was left behind and surrendered to 2nd Bn, 5th RCT. Heard from Sqd Ldr (approx 7 days ago) 335th and 336th Regt located right (W) of 334th Regt.

2nd Bn: 9 60mm Mortars, 3 81mm Mortars, 6 HMG, 9 LMG
112th Div: 4 Arty pieces.

4. GENERAL:
a. Intentions: Defensive war until Spring.
b. Morale: Morale is low among majority, due to incessant air strikes and lies of superiors.
c. Propaganda: PW has seen and picked up leaflets. Thought to desert at first opportunity.
d. No knowledge of other HAN River crossings.
e. Late November, observed 50 US PW at TOKCH'ON. Heard they were to be taken to CHINA.
f. Heard that 112th Division might be relieved.
g. Chinese fear air strikes and arty most.
