2. ASSESSMENT:
PW seemed to be in good physical condition at time of interrogation. Was cooperative and of average intelligence. Information obtained is considered fairly reliable. Not recommended for further interrogation.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
b. PW’s Unit: 97th Regt was attached to 43rd Div on or about 7 Oct 50. Prior to that, 97th Regt was an independent Regiment composed of newly recruited soldiers. 97th Regt was originally composed of nine (9) battalions; however, six (6) battalions were dispatched to SUNCHON when the 97th Regt became part of the 43rd Division. Weapons were issued to this regiment on or about 8 Oct 50. Weapons were hauled by trucks from YOPA. 4-45mm Mortars, 1 or 2 82mm Mortars, 1-120mm Mortars, 2 or 3 LMG, 2 or 3 HMG and rifles were issued to each battalion. Ammunition was also hauled from YOPA by trucks. Regt had sufficient supply of ammo on hand. Each battalion was composed of approximately 900 men. On 17 Oct 50, the 97th Regt was ordered to proceed to SARIWON. However, enroute, staff officers received word that SARIWON was in danger and fled. 97th Regt was disbanded at this point. Unknown number of men led by Labor Party Members fled to KULWON-SAN to fight as guerrillas. They were armed with only light weapons.
