Average intelligence, very cooperative. Reliability good. Showed no signs of communistic learning during interrogation.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Chronology:
15 Jul 50: PW and 20 men were conscripted at P'YONGYANG (平壤). All received comissions as Capts. Received 3 days of political training.
21 Jul 50: PW and 20 men departed P'YONGYANG by train.
25 Jul 50: Arrived SEOUL. Most of the Capts were assigned to 104th Security Regt. PW assigned to 23rd Bn Hqs.
26 Jul 50: 23rx Bn (approx 500) departed by train.
27 Jul 50: Arrived SUWON (水原) same day, departed on foot and passed P'YONGTAEK (平澤), CH'ONAN (天安), TAEJON, KUMSAN (錦山), KOCH'ANG (居昌) and HYOPCH'ON (陜川).
1 Sep 50: Arrived SACH'ON (泗川) (approx 300 men transferred into Bn from 104th Security Regt). 23rd Bn Hq was located at KUAM-NI (九岩里) 3 km N of SACH'ON. Bn patroled SACH'ON Area until retreat.
24 Sep 50: 23rd Bn Hq retreated from CHINJU (晉州).
30 Sep 50: At SECH'ON (泗川) area 23rx Bn Hq CO read Safe Conduct pass and called 7 officers and asked each officer's opinion and then decided to surrender. 8 officers and 4 EM surrendered to US forces.
