PW of average intelligence, very cooperative. Further interrogation is not recommended.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
Chronology:
14 Jul 50 - PW was inducted at CH’ONAN (天安) and assigned to 2nd Bn, 2nd Co, 2nd Plt, 2nd Sqd. 2nd Bn strength was 55 men.
16 Jul 50 - 2nd Bn departed CH'ONAN, marched, arrived CH'ONGJU (淸州). At CHONGJU PW received carbine (US) with 30 rounds, 3 x hand grenades. Returned 4 x Japanese rifles (Model 38) and ammunition and received 4 x PPsh M1941 SMG’s and distributed to 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th Co. Total of 10 drums were issued to the 4 companies, 2nd Co received 3 drums.
21 Jul 50 - Departed CH'ONGJU, marched, arrived YONGDONG (永同) 29 Jul 50.
1 Aug 50 - Departed YONGDONG, marched, arrived K'OCH'ANG (居昌) 8 Aug 50.
9 Aug 50 - Departed K'OCH'ANG marched, arrived TU KOK RI (豆谷里) 2 km W of NAKTONG River 13 Aug 50.
17 Aug 50 - Departed 2 km W of NAKTONG River, crossed river, arrived 400 m E of NAKTONG River. Remained 3 days and departed 20 Aug 50.
20 Aug 50 - Marched to OHORI (五湖里) (6 km SSE of YONGSAN) arriving 23 Aug 50. 2nd Bn Hqs located this point. Same day 7 men from 2nd Co and 7 men from other companies were assigned reconnaissance mission. Unit of 14 men was called the advance party. Departed OHORI toward MIRYANG (密陽). Halted 4 km NE of OHORI.
25 Aug 50 - 3 men were given mission to destroy railroad between MlRYANG and SAMNAGJIN (三浪津). Departed. 5 men remained at 4 km NE OHORI and PW and 5 men were assigned to destroy all vehicles.
26 Aug 50 - Two men separated from unit and straggled. Captured 1 Sep 50.

Original Organization and Strength:
2nd Bn was divided into 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th Cos. 2nd Co was largest in the battalion with strength of 21 men. So-called 5th Co was 2nd Bn Hq consisting of 5 men. Unit of 54 men was armed with 20 x M1 US rifles with 80 rounds, 15 x Carbines (US), 50 rounds per Carbine, 10 x Japanese Rifles, Model 99, 70 rounds per rifle, 4 x Japanese rifles (Model 38) 70 rounds, 6 x pistols. PW was only man who was unarmed. 2nd Bn had about 60 hand grenades (type RG-42 offensive hand grenades).

3 km S of SEOUL, PW observed approx 20 x T-34/85 tanks 27, 28, 29 Jun 50.

Supplies:
Received average of 2 rice balls a day. Received food from farmers.
Ammunition last received at CHONGJU 21 Jul 50.

Enemy Intentions:
Objective of 2nd Bn - MIRYANG.

Morale and Propaganda:
Morale, low.
PW stated he never saw any leaflets but heard about them and believed in them.
