At 09 1200 Sep 50, the 7th Div engaged in a offensive in order to capture HAMAN. The 3rd Regt was in reserve behind the 2nd Regt. The 2nd Regt was almost annihilated during this battle by aircraft and artillery fire.

Morale and Propaganda:
Morale of the 7th Div was very low. PW stated that the soldiers were forced to fight and they were constantly watched by the unit officers, who made sure that their men did not retreat.
Lack of equipment and provisions, loss of men and the fact that the officers did not fight with their men but killed them if they retreated, were the causes of low morale.
PW observed several different types of US Leaflets and stated that most men were inclined to surrender to UN Forces as the Safe Conduct Passes were signed by General Douglas MacArthur.
The troops were told, that it they were captured by UN Forces, that they would be tortured and killed. They were also told that the American Imperialists were invading South Korea.
